The military has been teaching its leaders the discipline of psychological fitness for thousands of years. Psychological fitness is defined as the “integration and optimization of mental, emotional, and behavior abilities and capacities to optimize performance and strengthen the resilience of warfighters.” Military leaders learn to lead under the most extreme circumstances.

I pose the question: Is the need for organizational leaders to have the psychological steadiness to lead in these challenging times like that of military leaders?
